Being a community-based organisation entails being one with the society which you seek to serve so that one is able to aid them in through the provision of the essential services. In the height of the Covid pandemic, Uluntu and other partner organisations noted with concern the increase in cases of domestic violence at homes brought forth by the lockdown. As the social ill became worse and other partner organisations sought to tackle it head on through organising women talks and workshops targeted at men as majority the perpetrators, Uluntu noted the adverse effects domestic violence has in children and organised talks with children at schools. This is a continuous project developed by Uluntu staff as a service to the society we are a part of. More of these talks will be held in the months to come, and will transcend the Gender talks to incorporate youth and women empowerment talks, climate, HIV and Aids, and other social discussions pas guided by the community we seek to serve.
